Brown Sugar Glazed Ham (Printer-Friendly)

Spiral ham glazed with brown sugar, honey, Dijon, and warm spices for a flavorful, tender main dish.

# List of Ingredients:

→ Ham

01 - 1 fully cooked spiral-sliced ham (8–10 pounds)

→ Glaze

02 - 1 cup dark brown sugar
03 - 1 cup honey
04 - ¼ cup Dijon mustard
05 - 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
06 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - ¼ teaspoon ground cloves (optional)
08 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
09 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
10 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
11 - 3 tablespoons orange juice (optional, for thinning glaze)

→ Garnish

12 - Fresh parsley (optional)

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 325°F. Unwrap the spiral-sliced ham and place it in a large roasting pan.
02 - In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine dark brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cinnamon, ground cloves if using, garlic powder, onion powder, unsalted butter, and orange juice if needed. Stir frequently until the mixture is smooth, well blended, and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.
03 - Loosely cover the ham with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour, or about 10 to 12 minutes per pound, until warmed through.
04 - Remove the foil and spoon the prepared glaze generously over the ham, focusing between the slices. Return the ham to the oven uncovered. Baste with additional glaze every 15 minutes and bake for an additional 30 to 45 minutes, until the glaze is caramelized.
05 - Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

# Additional Suggestions:

01 - Basting the ham every 15 minutes promotes even caramelization and enhances flavor.
02 - Allow the ham to rest after baking to retain moisture and tenderness.
03 - Broil for 1–3 minutes at the end if additional caramelization is desired; watch carefully to prevent burning.
