09 - 1/2 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
10 - 2 tablespoons heavy cream

→ Finishing

11 - Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Combine active dry yeast with warmed whole milk in a large bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
02 - Add granulated sugar, softened butter, egg, all-purpose flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
03 - Transfer dough onto a floured surface and knead by hand for 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in volume.
04 - Deflate the dough and roll out to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut circles using a 2 1/2 to 3-inch round cutter. Arrange on a baking sheet, cover with towel, and let rise for 30 minutes.
05 - Heat vegetable or canola oil in a deep pot to 350°F using a candy thermometer.
06 - Fry dough rounds in batches, turning once, until golden brown and cooked through, about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
07 - Combine chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth and fully melted.
08 - Allow donuts to cool slightly. Fill each with melted chocolate using a piping bag or small knife. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
