Crockpot Pork Chops Apples (Printer-Friendly)

Slow-cooked pork chops combine with apples, onions, and spices for a warm, comforting autumn dish.

# List of Ingredients:

→ Pork Chops

01 - 4 boneless pork chops, approximately 1 inch thick
02 - 1 teaspoon salt
03 - ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon granulated chicken bouillon powder

→ Apple-Onion Mix

06 - 2 medium Fuji apples, sliced
07 - 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
08 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
09 - ½ teaspoon dried thyme
10 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
11 - 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
12 - 1 tablespoon brown sugar
13 - ½ cup chicken broth
14 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chicken bouillon powder, pressing the seasoning into the meat.
02 - Spread sliced apples and onions evenly across the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon and dried thyme for added warmth and aroma.
03 - In a small bowl, combine Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and chicken broth until smooth. Pour sauce evenly over the apple and onion mixture in the crockpot.
04 - Nestle the seasoned pork chops on top of the apple-onion sauce layer. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours until the pork is tender.
05 - About 20 minutes before serving, dissolve cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of cold water to form a slurry. Stir the slurry gently into the crockpot, cover, and allow the sauce to thicken.

# Additional Suggestions:

01 - For even cooking, slice apples and onions uniformly using a mandoline or sharp knife.
02 - Optional: Sear pork chops in a hot skillet for 1–2 minutes per side before slow cooking to enhance flavor and color.
03 - Allow pork chops to rest uncovered for 5 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices.
04 - Garnish with freshly chopped thyme or parsley before serving to elevate aroma and appearance.
