Rice Krispie Brains Treat (Printer-Friendly)

Sweet marshmallow and cereal treats shaped into spooky brain shapes for a festive occasion.

# List of Ingredients:

→ Butter

01 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
02 - Unsalted butter for greasing hands

→ Marshmallows

03 - 1 (10-ounce) bag mini marshmallows

→ Cereal

04 - 5 cups Rice Krispies toasted rice cereal

→ Coloring

05 - Pink food coloring (optional)

# Preparation Steps:

01 - In a large nonstick saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the unsalted butter, swirling occasionally to prevent browning.
02 - Add mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until fully melted into a smooth, glossy mixture. Maintain gentle heat to avoid browning.
03 - If desired, add pink food coloring one drop at a time, mixing thoroughly to achieve an even, lifelike color.
04 - Remove from heat and fold in Rice Krispies cereal quickly, stirring gently to coat evenly without crushing the cereal.
05 - Generously butter your hands to prevent sticking. While the mixture is warm but not hot, scoop portions and mold into oval brain shapes. Create grooves and folds using fingers for a realistic look.

# Additional Suggestions:

01 - Shape the mixture while warm, as it hardens and becomes difficult to mold once cooled.
02 - Store shaped treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days to maintain their chewy texture.
