01 - 3 tbsp caster sugar
02 - 1.7 fl oz spiced cognac or cognac
03 - 0.85 fl oz fresh lemon juice
04 - 0.85 fl oz Cointreau

05 - Lemon wedge for glass rim

→ Spiced Cognac Infusion

06 - 4 cardamom pods, bruised
07 - 1 star anise
08 - 2 small slices fresh ginger
09 - 1 cinnamon stick
10 - 6.7 fl oz cognac

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Combine cardamom pods, star anise, ginger slices, and cinnamon stick with cognac. Allow to infuse for 30 to 45 minutes, tasting after 30 minutes to achieve desired flavor.
02 - Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of a coupe glass and then dip the rim into caster sugar to coat evenly.
03 - In a cocktail shaker, combine 1.7 fl oz of the infused cognac, fresh lemon juice, and Cointreau.
04 - Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously until well chilled.
05 - Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or a cinnamon stick if desired before serving.
