Beat the softened butter and sugar together until the mixture is light and smooth.

Incorporate flour, vanilla, baking powder, and honey (or syrup) into the creamed mixture until a soft dough forms.

Divide the dough into three equal portions. Form each portion into a long roll and space them on the prepared tray.

While rolls are warm, slice diagonally into strips with a sharp knife. Let cookies cool completely on the tray.
