Sweet Brown Sugar Carrots (Printer-Friendly)

Tender carrots coated in a glossy, sweet brown sugar and butter glaze perfect for dinners and gatherings.

# List of Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 pounds carrots, peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch rounds
02 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
04 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
05 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Garnish

06 - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

# Preparation Steps:

01 - Place sliced carrots in a large pot and add about 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes until carrots are just fork-tender.
02 - Pour carrots into a strainer to drain water completely. Set carrots aside.
03 - Add butter, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper to the same pot. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved, forming a glossy glaze.
04 - Return carrots to the pot with the glaze. Toss gently and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until carrots are well coated and heated through.
05 - Transfer glazed carrots to a serving dish and top with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve immediately.

# Additional Suggestions:

01 - Use standard-sized carrots for the best flavor and texture; slice evenly for consistent cooking.
02 - Do not overcook carrots or they will become mushy; they should be just fork-tender when finished boiling.
03 - Leftover glazed carrots can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
04 - For a different flavor, add a pinch of ground cinnamon or a dash of cayenne pepper to the glaze.
