Deep Fried S'Mores Dessert (Printer-Friendly)

Crunchy deep fried s'mores with melty chocolate and marshmallow, served warm for bite-sized indulgence.

# List of Ingredients:

→ For the S'mores

01 - 8 sheets graham crackers, broken in half
02 - 8 large marshmallows
03 - 4 Hershey's milk chocolate bars, each divided into 8 pieces

→ Batter and Frying

04 - 1 cup (120 g) pancake mix
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk
07 - 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil, plus extra for frying
08 - 3 cups (710 ml) vegetable oil, for deep frying

# Preparation Steps:

01 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together pancake mix, egg, whole milk, and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil until the mixture forms a smooth, thick batter. Allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes for optimal coating.
02 - Lay out the graham cracker halves. Place one segment of chocolate and one marshmallow between two halves to form a sandwich. Press the sandwiches gently to secure.
03 - Pour vegetable oil into a deep, heavy-bottomed pot to a depth of about 3 inches. Heat the oil to 375°F (190°C), using a thermometer for accuracy.
04 - Using tongs, dip each s'more sandwich into the prepared batter, turning to coat evenly. Gently shake off excess batter before frying.
05 - Carefully lower the coated s'mores into the hot oil with tongs. Hold each for a few seconds to help set the batter before releasing. Fry in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown.
06 - Remove the fried s'mores with a slotted spoon and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes before serving for a molten center and safe handling.

# Additional Suggestions:

01 - Fry in small batches to maintain oil temperature and ensure even browning.
02 - For the best texture, serve fried s'mores fresh; reheating may reduce the crispness.
03 - Letting the batter rest before use helps create better adhesion and a crispier coating.
